Purpose

To develop a Waqf building for a Dialysis Centre (Centre) within the compound of Hospital Tuanku Fauziah (HTF), Kangar, Perlis. The Centre is a double-storey building with 1,822 m2 of floor space that can fit a capacity of 66 beds. It will be the largest dialysis Centre in Perlis and the biggest waqf development project in health sector in Malaysia.

Impact

Prior to completion of the Centre, there were only four (4) hemodialysis centers throughout the state of Perlis. With the opening of this Centre, the efficiency of treatment services is enhanced and the waiting period is shortened. For information, the construction work of the Centre commenced on 3 April 2018 and was handed over to HTF on 3 February 2020. The Centre started to receive patients on 17 August 2020. As at 31 October 2020, the number of patients who have received treatment are as follows: i. Regular patient: 163 ii. Lodger patient: 22
